Dee DeBrock, RN

Home Health Nurse

Professional Highlights:

A graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Moline, Dee has over 40 years of experience in the fields of home and public health nursing. She worked for 20 years as a home health nurse with the Henry County Health Department.

Personal Notes:

Residents of rural Geneseo, Dee and her husband David are the proud parents of two sons Ty and Beau and his wife Amy.

Dee and her husband enjoy travel and relaxing at their summer cabin in Minnesota.

Hobbies and Community Interests:

Dee is extremely gratified in her community work as an Atkinson Library Trustee.

In her spare time, Dee enjoys reading and sewing.


Martha Rivera, RN

Home Health Nurse

Professional Highlights:

A graduate of Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg Martha has over 12 years of experience in healthcare. She worked for 4 years in a hospital and over eight years as a home health nurse with the Henry County Health Department.

Of special note, Martha has received specialized training in Diabetic education, maintenance and treatment.

Personal Notes:

Residents of Kewanee, Martha and her husband JR are proud grandparents 8 times over. They enjoy spending time helping their children with child care. They like to read, draw, play board games and go to the park with their grandchildren.

Hobbies and Community Interests:

Martha has enjoyed working at the Health Department's fall flu clinics.

In her spare time Martha enjoys reading, camping, football, and attending yard sales .

A doting grandparent, Martha always attends her grandchildren's school functions such as plays, games and open houses.


Charlene Sovanski, RN

Home Health Nurse

Professional Highlights:

Charlene, or Char, as her friends and patients know her; has over 30 years of experience in the fields of home and public health nursing.

A graduate of the Abbott Northwestern School of Nursing in Minneapolis, one of Char's first nursing jobs was working with a mid-wife in the Stinking Free Hollow and Pine Mountains areas.

Personal Notes:

Char grew up on a farm in Minnesota as one of six children. Professional and personal opportunities drew her to Henry County, Illinois in 1975.

She has lived in the Kewanee area since, where she and her husband, John have raised their 3 children: Carmen, Kerry and Adam. This October they will welcome Adam's new wife Crystal to the family fold.

Hobbies and Community Interests:

"My nursing career has been full and diverse in its experiences. However, whether it's bringing a new life into the world or helping an elderly client recover at home, it's the human contact that's important to me. I have truly come full circle as a nurse, friend and caregiver."


Colleen Lewis, RN

Home Health Nurse

Professional Highlights:

Colleen, or as her friends and family call her "Co" is a graduate of Brokaw Hospital School of Nursing. Colleen is a recent addition to the Health Department staff and she brings with her over 48 years of experience in the fields of surgical, emergency, and now home health nursing. In addition, she has worked extensively in the field of quality and risk management.

Personal Notes:

A resident of Kewanee, Colleen is a proud parent of two daughters and grandparent to two granddaughters.

Hobbies and Community Interests:

Colleen is very active in her church and she enjoys serving as a parish nurse for the 1st United Methodist Church in Kewanee.

In her spare time, Colleen enjoys golfing, collecting vintage items and spending time with her grandchildren.


Marta Licht, CNA

Home Health Aide

Professional Highlights:

Marta has been employed by the Henry County Health Department for 25 years.

Her dedication and hard work as a home health aide is unsurpassed.

In 2005, Marta was named Home Care Aide of the Year by Home Care Across Illinois. In addition, Marta was the recipient of the Excellence in Care to the Older Adult award from the University of Chicago College of Nursing.

Personal Notes:

Marta and her husband, Sylvan "Syl" have been residents of Geneseo for 37 years.

"I've made so many friends over the years. Each patient of mine and their families are very special. It's such a rewarding career."

Hobbies and Community Interests:

She enjoys traveling. Syl and Marta love NASCAR and enjoy going to races whenever possible.

Marta looks forward to a life of meeting and helping others.
