The Henry and Stark County Health Department and the Henry County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) note that on March 29, 2022 the FDA approved a second Covid-19 Booster dose for adults 50 years and older, and for certain immunocompromised patients aged 12-49 years. Also, adults who received the Johnson & Johnson primary vaccine may receive a second booster dose of a mRNA (Pfizer/Moderna). The additional booster doses may be administered at least 4 months after the previous booster dose.
With this new guidance and approval in mind, the Health Department, the Henry County OEM and First Choice Healthcare announce that Covid 2nd Booster shots are now available by appointment at the Kewanee First Choice Healthcare clinic at 110 N. Burr Blvd. (309) 852-5272.
Officials remind local residents that may be considering or seeking this 2nd Covid Booster dose, that Children aged 12-17 need to receive the Pfizer vaccine, and patients 18 years of age and older may select either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
The Health Department & First Choice Healthcare’s Covid-19 vaccination services offer both the Pfizer and Moderna Covid vaccines.
